European footpath E6 in Slovenia - Ciglarjeva pot od Drave do Jadrana

Slovenia has joined the European footpath network on the iniative of Austrian foresters. Milan Ciglar, a forestry engineer and a big fan of nature, mountaineering and trekking, responded the iniative. After his death the Slovene part E6, called "From the Drava to the Adriatic Sea" was renamed to "Ciglar's path from the Drava to the Adriatic".
The Slovene part was opend on 24 maj 1975. The footpath is about 350 km long and can be walked in 14 days. It starts at Radlje upon the Drava, leads past Snežnik castle to Strunjan in Slovene Istria (The Adriatic Sea).
